Tyger Tyger Burning Bright

This was a project for my Illustration class last semester. I had a lot of trouble, but I think it turned out sort of interesting, maybe?

The project was to create an illustration for a magazine article that was about the perilous situation of tigers in the wild and the need for a better awareness about the problem.

The matchstick tiger idea was supposed to represent the fragile state tigers are in, and how if the issue is left alone they could easily "go up in flames" before we realize it.

It's a tiger made out of around 4,000 matchsticks. I then messed around with it in photoshop. Now, I am a major amateur with photoshop. Practice practice practice.

I put it under traditional art rather than digital, because even though it looks mostly digital, gluing all those matchsticks together took a lot longer than throwing a texture on it, believe me.

Also, hotglue + matches = no problems at all.
